Through the times, email newsletters have been viewed as an easy way to disseminate information and reach out to the users in general. But have you over stepped back and pondered what information are you getting in lieu of the newsletter which you are sending.

Analyzing the newsletter and fine tuning them for better performance is the key for a successful business venture via email newsletters. Below we provide you with the 5 guidelines to fine tune your email newsletters and use them for your benefit.

1. Use Every Newsletter as a Test

The problem arise when we fail to experiment and give in to the comforts of what is known to us. With your email newsletter you have the chances of experimenting and understanding which way your email newsletters works the best way.

You can experiment in terms of content of the newsletter. For instance, you can create two separate groups and send out emails with varying content to each one of the two groups. The better performance from one of the two would let you know which one is better choice for the email newsletters.

2. Allow them to revert back

Newsletters are an easy way to communicate with your clients. And communication is not complete if it is just single way. Does your email newsletter allows the customers to revert back to same? Or do the replies only are dumped in to auto responders etc? You need to understand the same and use it for your own benefit. By allowing the users to revert back to your email newsletter, you actually open yourself up to a wide range of possibilities. It may be possible that users are not able to go through your email newsletter and they may reply about the same. Thus direct that reverts to your email newsletter to someone in your marketing team and by opening up the lines of effective communication.

3. Use Unique URLs to Track Links in Your Newsletter

You can use Google Analytics, to understand how effective and relevant your newsletter campaign has be. This is the tool which differentiates between the traffic coming to your website. You would know whether the increase in traffic is the result of the newsletter campaign, or it has happened through other off page, on page, paid – unpaid methods. You can use a distinct URL to populate your email newsletter with and understand how many links have come from the newsletter.

4. Include Surveys to Boost Participation

Surveys are a great way to invite more and more customers and gain valuable inputs on your business and its offerings. You may have included the surveys in your website or sent out the survey forms, in order to gain vital information, but if you wish to receive huge data volumes, you must not forget to include them in the newsletters as well. You need not design a new survey for your newsletters, but you can easily link the survey existing on your website or other application in the newsletter itself, in order to solicit more responses.

5. Think of using a Marketing Application

It may get quite over whelming for the users, especially business owners to ascertain all of the above mentioned tasks and side by side concentrate on the business. If at the same time, you decide to employ a marketing application to take care of the same, you can save yourself a lot of time and effort. There are various services available, like Constant Contact, Mail Chimp and Vertical Response etc. These applications not only help in testing and formatting the email content, but most of the online applications also generate the data automatically, in order to support your campaign.

As technology continues to change and our current economy continues to fluctuate there are fewer and fewer reasons to keep call answering in house. Businesses are cutting costs by necessity to increase or maintain steady profit and ensure the business continues to stay afloat despite recession and decreases in average household spending.

Times are hard. Now more than ever it’s incredibly beneficial to move your call handling out of the office and into a call centre or answering service provider.

However, choosing the right call centre is pivotal to this, so don’t choose too quickly. All telephone answering services are not created equal. Some companies definitely do a better job at answering your phone calls than others.

Taking the time to research a telephone answering services provider is as important as test driving a car or having a house thoroughly inspected before purchasing. You want to know if there are leaks or decay. You want to make sure the engine runs smoothly.

Here are 4 reasons to choose a call answering service:

1. It Creates Jobs: With the news of rising unemployment especially for young people, finding ways to increase employment opportunities is always good news for everyone. Recently in Wales, a telephone answering service company has been delivering such good service that they are now able to expand and provide over 100 new jobs to the community. In this economic climate especially, that’s a big deal.

2. It Decreases Costs: Pay as you go and pay monthly contracts with telephone handling companies affords you with high volume handling by a team of people trained in call services rather than the equivalent amount paying for one or two employees in your own office. It also means you can have a smaller office, which will reduce rent and utilities costs as well.

3. It Allows you to Work from Anywhere: Mobile working is becoming increasingly common with the introduction of iPhones, iPads, and Android phones. Outsourcing your call handling means you can be anywhere in the world and your business calls and inquiries will always be answered. This increases your job flexibility and enables greater work satisfaction.

4. It Increases Customer Retention: Businesses with good customer service and availability will inevitably see an increase in business and retention when customers or clients see that your company not only cares but is available for help whenever required. Your accountability to your customers will create greater confidence, which will increase revenue and retention.

Author Bio: K Newey is a copywriter from Canada living and writing in the UK. She thinks phone answering services are a great idea especially for small business.

Google+ offers exclusive features for careful sharing, search and effectual communication process. Consumers are offered unique user experience when compared with the already reputable social networks. Google+ has become a great place where consumers can upsurge their interest chart like finding people related to their topics that are shared commonly or finding latest content of their interest. Five major points can be summarized that are the main advantages that Google+ own when compared to the new social commerce stands.

Google+ has Thorough Information about its Users

Google+ has firm incorporation with Google Apps and that is the reason it can take advantage of what it already knows about each of its business user that include topics that the consumers search for, contacts whom they send mail and the frequency involved. An enterprise user not only is helped to quickly build on its inner circles with the help of Google+ but also they can ascertain those who are in the outside circle but talking about the identical industry or topic. Google+ is an outstanding tool for building immense interest-based expert systems.

Well turned-out combination with Existing Google Apps

Google+ and Google Apps are fully incorporated with each other. Users are not needed to own a new log in id as because it is just like one another tab like calendar, video, docs, and mail. As it is known that most of the business users spend most of their day in either calendar or mail, so Google+ has full advantage over any intermediary software as its users can access this tool from their daily workflow itself. Companies that are using Google Apps can easily bank upon the advantageous features of Google+ that require no added software, amendments in behavior or logins.

Google+ Amalgamates Private and Public Distribution:

The users while using Google+ can decide for each post whether they would like it to post with their clients, colleagues. It is advantageous when compared with other social venture platforms in the sense that when others keep most of the shared content private, Google+ finely does the work of combining private and public sharing.

Google+ Is Exclusively Placed to Help You Discover and Allocate Motivating Content

It is a proven fact that Google has best knowledge about the available content in the web rather than anyone else. So automatically it has the best position to help the users find both interesting people and content from inside and as well as outside the company. Users can follow the latest happening from the web on the topics that they are interested in with the help of Google+ Sparks. With the aid of Internal Sparks, users can easily find experts and content from within their company on topics that the users are most interested in.

Android Phones Sync Effortlessly With the Complete Apps Collection.

Now an Android mobile phone brings the whole integration to the users on the move. On activating the Android handsets using company’s Google Apps account, all of the social functionality and output comes into the hand of the users and employees. Also when it comes to wide variety of devices it always means superior suppleness.

So we can see after scanning through the above mentioned five valid reasons that why Google+ could easily win over the social enterprise battle and gifts its users, unique user friendly application.

As we all are aware of, this month we lost one of the greatest innovators of all time, Perhaps the most apt homage and memorial was offered by the millions of readers worldwide whose lives were touched by the genius, and they read, shared and discussed the overpowering news from the very platform which he created.

So when it came time to express our own tribute, the inspiration was crystal clear.

Just a few hours before the sad incident, Digg Newsrooms were launched in public beta and just within 15 minutes of Apple’s sad announcement, the Newsrooms were flooded with stories, images, videos, and links reminiscing and honoring Steve Jobs and his legacy.

Our algorithm acknowledged trending news items, and from there, thousands of Diggs were cast to surface the most unforgettable and significant stories. Just to address the huge impact, it is least to say that we saw stories with some of the highest Digg counts than anything we’ve seen in the past year.

The video and the info graphic below demonstrate those stories with which the Digg community and the social networking users through facebook likes and tweets etc could relate to the most. The numbers and images speak most for themselves, but at a personal level, we were touched by how many of these reflected Steve Jobs as an individual as much as they were a record of his work.

A memorial at the intersection of technology and humanity—much like the man himself.

Social media has changed the world as we know it. People around the world can communicate with others using short bursts of information that can be specifically targeted to others based on keywords or location. Never before have people had such a voice. Among other things, it has impacted how companies must deal with customer service.

Customers Can Easily Voice Displeasure

A company must make sure that the product they offer is a sound one and be sure that the customer enjoys doing business with that company. A customer who decides that they didn’t like the service they got in a shop, or at a restaurant, can take that review to Twitter and the whole world can see it without any corporate spin beforehand. This means that a company must either provide great service, or risk the entire world thinking the business is shady or doesn’t care about people.

Transparency Matters

Recent Domino’s commercials show a new system where the person who makes the pizza is placed on the receipt. The customer can then go online and rate how the pizza was and how the service was on that order. This is almost directly because of a rise of social media and the influence that it can have over how a business is perceived.

Due to the rise of social media, companies have had to get in front of potential PR issues and simply show the customer what is going on and to show that they care. This puts pressure on not only management, but the employee actually performing the task to take accountability for what is done.

Social Media Can Be Like A Digital Call Center

If a business is based online, it can take to Twitter to acknowledge an issue, or allow for customers to have one place to either rave about the product, or decry a lackluster effort. If done correctly, this can save the company a lot of money and time. Instead of having to spend money on a phone system, and employees to take the calls, the company could have one or two social media specialists to deal with customer service issues online.

Social media has changed the way the world operates for better or worse. It has given everyone a level playing field to share their views and opinions. While social media can be great for business, it can also empower the customer in new ways. A business that is not open to this may find it loses business. However, a business that is able to adapt should be able to utilize social media for good customer service practices.

There’s no denying that the internet has redefined the concept of creating and conducting business on a global basis. Rapid advances in technology have given rise to business opportunities that could not have been foreseen a few years ago. But these opportunities are not without risks, for the same technology used to facilitate business transactions online can potentially open doors of opportunity to those who seek to defraud companies and customers by obtaining and exploiting highly sensitive information.

Being that owners of internet based businesses need to be constantly vigilant in assuring the integrity of transactions, here are 6 ways to insure greater online security.

1. Know Your Risks:

Face it. You wouldn’t leave your car unlocked with a wallet full of cash and credit cards lying open on the dash would you? It’s just too risky. The same rules apply when operating an internet dependent business. You need to understand the risks and vulnerabilities associated with your IT systems and networks in order to implement a proper plan of action to secure them.

2. Start with the Fundamentals:

No attempt to enhance internet security can be successful without first being built upon a solid defense system of anti-virus software and firewall protection. Being that the abilities of those who seek to breach security systems are constantly evolving, it’s critical that these systems be kept up to date to ensure that the latest “anti-hacking” countermeasures are being utilized.

3. Be Wary of Wireless Connections:

Although wireless networks have made it possible for small business owners to set up shop quickly and economically, the fact remains that data transmitted over radio waves without extra precautions can be easily intercepted. Fortunately, the advent of encrypted Virtual Private Network connections or VPN’s makes it possible to gain secure access to company databases and files containing sensitive information.

4. Contemplate the Cookie:

While utilizing cookies to identify users is considered to be generally safe, it’s best to institute certain precautions to prevent cookies from being compromised by possible “packet sniffing” attempts during internet transmissions. Among the best practices to insure the safe use of cookies is SSL data encryption, using randomly generated session keys, and requiring user re-validation prior to conducting transactions that could expose sensitive information to hackers. Since ways to attack are always evolving, along with appropriate countermeasures to prevent them, it’s best to consult a professional to make sure you have adequate security coverage in this area.

5. Consider Online Signature Software:

If a fair amount of your business revolves around documents and signatures, several software programs now exist that allow you to obtain an Online Electronic Signature or “OES” on a digital document quickly and securely. Not only are these signatures easy to obtain—eliminating time consuming faxing and mailing—they allow the signer to generate his legally binding signature through the simple task of manipulating a mouse. Aside from the security benefits, the ability to generate and execute contracts quickly—eliminating the delays of snail mail which can hold up lucrative business deals— is an added bonus.

6. Use Common Sense:

Once you’ve adopted sound security measures, bear in mind that any security system is vulnerable to lapses in judgment. One of the most common errors small business owners need to avoid is using predictable passwords. Never use the names of family members or any other words too closely associated with who you are or what you do. Effective passwords should be a minimum of 8 characters long. They should also combine both upper and lower cases and incorporate numbers to create greater randomness. Although you may pride yourself in creating a “hack proof” password, don’t get too attached to it. You’ll want to create a new one at least once a month to ensure an even greater measure of security for your system and ultimately, your business.

In these days of ever narrowing margins and shaky consumer confidence it’s important that your company or business shows out among the competition as the most attractive, most trustworthy of all those available.

If your client base doesn’t find you trustworthy then conversions are going to be incredibly hard to achieve. Where there is no trust there is no sale and where there is no sale there is no business, just a failed website. Failure to build trust leading to poor conversions is particularly true if you’re selling high-priced goods, while internet shopping is akin to catalogue shopping people had confidence in catalogue shopping, you paid by cheque or in instalments only after you received the goods and the catalogues were often the mail order side of well known high street retailers and brands. If you have a retail website without a known name fears over internet fraud and phishing make your efforts at creating trust as easy as herding cats.

If you take the example of white goods, kitchen appliances and the like, you don’t order them often, they cost a significant amount of money and you have to rely on them being delivered. If people don’t know your name they won’t trust you and if there is the slightest hitch in the order-delivery process that insecure trust will most likely be shattered earning you poor feedback on price comparison and product review sites.

So, if you’ve got a site and you need people to trust you, what steps can you take to make the user experience such that they feel safe parting with their credit card details and giving you their address into the bargain?

Keep It Simple (and) Secure.

Poorly designed websites cost retailers in Britain half a billion pounds over the past three years. If a customer is confused, frustrated or baffled by your website they are going to bounce. That’s not something either of you really want so improve your layout so that the shopping cart is prominently displayed, pricing is clear and honest. I recently bought some goods online and only found out after submitting the order that I was paying a third of the bill again for courier service. I didn’t want it and it still arrived late so I probably won’t use them again. If you want people to trust you be honest from the beginning to the end!

Tell ‘Em What They’re Yellin’

Third party endorsements are a valuable resource when it comes to building trust. Don’t be shy about asking for feedback to, simply following up with an email asking what your customer thought of the service with a disclaimer that feedback could be used for staff training and promotional purposes should be enough. Get testimonials from suppliers too, if you have a longstanding relationship ask for a recommendation and offer one in return.

Don’t Be Shy About Getting Down To Business.

Have you ever been to one of those antique stores where there aren’t any prices on anything and you feel intimidated to ask? After a few moments you say “thank you” to the snooty sales assistant and leave while trying to maintain some self respect right? Do you want a website that feels like that or do you want your customers to know exactly what they’re getting and for how much? As with keeping it simple, have a simple and obvious pricing strategy which puts the price on everything you’re selling.

Here’s Looking At You, Kid.

Put yourself into the site, literally. When you’re writing your onsite content, product descriptions and blogs write with your own voice. If you’re a two finger typist and you get bogged down when you’re trying to express yourself record yourself and get some-one to type it up for you. When people can ‘hear’ you when they read your site they know they’re dealing with a person, and people do business with people, not robots. Include pictures of your self and your team, your office or workshop et cetera. And while you’re at it, make sure you include your street address and telephone number so people at least feel like they can come over or call you if they have a problem. If you show that you trust your customers it’s natural that they’ll trust you back.

The Obligatory Mention Of Social Media

Facebook, Twitter and Google+ have changed the way online business engage with their clientele and it’s something of an expectation that if you’re in business, particularly online, that you will have a Facebook and twitter account. In terms of building trust they’re great as you can talk directly and publicly to your customers, present and potential, deal with problems in an open forum and promote your new activities to a group who’ve already expressed interest in you.

Author Bio:@DanCash is an SEO and features writer who lives by the sea in the UK dealing with a number of clients in a variety of sectors. Looking for Greenwich food delivery or a curry in Islington is one thing, booking a holiday or buying a car is quite another but both need trust and you can only get that with the utmost honesty and reliability.

Google has at last launched an iOS application for Blogger, giving millions of bloggers an easy method to write and publish their blogs from their iPhones.

This application is accessible for iOS users 3.2 and up, is quite uncomplicated. It permits customers to write and publish complete blog posts along with images and geo-tagging. It also allows bloggers to preview and edit their published blog posts. It imitates the straightforwardness of the Blogger for Android interface. Bloggers will also have the facility to supervise several blogs from the interface.

Although this application works for the iPad, it will only function in compatibility mode. Expectantly an app for iPad will also be launched in the coming years.

This is the foremost official Blogger application for the iOS. BlogPress developed an unauthorized similar kind of application that Blogger approved, however an official application has been long past due. The blogging service, one time the biggest blogging service, has been outshined by mainly Tumblr, WordPress and more trivial opposition. Google newly started spending in an revamp of the service in an effort to make Blogger significant once over again.
